In 2007 NASA thought it best that I spend three months in Koeln, Germany to assist ESA in becoming a full member of the International Space Station. That was a big mistake. I fell in love with this city and three years later recieved the opportunity to come and work for ESA full-time! Here I will log the trials and triumphs of an ex-pat in Germany. Enjoy!

Baby I'm Back!

Greetings!

Well it's been three years since I left Koeln after my three-month rotation working for the European Space Agency. Three years I waited for an opportunity to come back and work abroad. My patience finally paid off in October when I was offered a full time position! It is very unorthodox for Germany in general and especially ESA to hire US Citizens, but the Space Industry is so small it is hard to find the specific set of skills. So this is it! I'm back permanently and can't be more happy.

From now on this blog will track my experiences as an ex-pat; from learning the language and getting through German paperwork, to being introduced to new traditions and adventures. Can't Wait!
